Today, there is no sun and heavy drizzly rain clouds. We got a late start and found the bagel/coffee shop between the hotel and the train station. Great place and with our late start a fine place for lunch. Dan’s ginger and lemon tea was interesting and he needed instructions on how to make it.
So off to explore, map in hand. The weather is holding in that there are no downpours so the plan is to find the botanical garden apparently one of the very first created stopping to take a few photos upon getting to the corner we had a lesson in Dutch hospitality and honesty Yes Dan managed to inadvertently pull his wallet out of his pocket along with his phone needless to say the alley is missing and he didn’t even know Now to honesty, the wallet was found and the gentleman who found it caught up with us and returned it everything intact We were totally amazed and appreciative there was no way to retrace our steps since we really couldn’t remember how we came since we were meandering along
To Dan’s benefit it was an old wallet he doesn’t usually use and he had been complaining that it was slippery Next stop the botanical garden We are just following along several of the paths and as luck has it I look up and written on the side of the building is the name of the garden I do not know how I found it but luck was with us because it is much better to be inside a tropical greenhouse in the rain than in a museum we did call it an early day only 12000 steps
Vacations are great occasions for shopping. Maybe Dan should invest in a newer wallet! The Travel Gods were watching over you, Buddy.
