Our first day in Vienna is packed. Good news is all clean clothes and great weather. We have to be at the Spanish Riding School by 10:30 or so. We got there a little late but well before the the 11 AM performance of the Lipizzaner Stallion performance. The up side we had seats it seems you could get a ticket for standing only
Amazing to see the pomp and circumstance of a bygone era. I wasn’t sure Dan wanted to go but enjoyed the performance. Cameras are not allowed during the performance and no one was taking photos (amazing). Completed the performance and took the on and off bus to see the city specifically the Shorenbrunn Palace and Gardens. Lots of walking but found the greenhouse with temperate and tropical species. Not a lot of orchids and ferns but amazing amounts of color. Seems the hydrangeas are in bloom or brought in from the greenhouse. We finished there about 5pm and we have to be at a small theater for a Mozart/Strauss concert that starts at 6:30. We checked in at 6:24. We both couldn’t believe we made it in time. This was a casual type of performance and only lasted an hour with a 15 minute intermission. The opera house was sold out and required dress type clothes so this was the perfect venue for us casual as well as quick moving. A fun performance that included dance and singing. Back to the hotel at 8:30 and time to get something to eat. This is our second night in a row we are eating at 9PM so unlike us. A great day although filled to the brim
