So we have one one day to see the city. Our hotel is in the modern section of Zurich near one of the outlying train stations. So the plan is to go into old town Zurich and do a walking tour. I also saw an ad for the Lindt chocolate factory tour and a Monet Immersion Experience that was similar to the Van Gogh one in San Diego. Dan hadn’t seen Van Gogh goo this sounded like a fun activity and the location is between our hotel and the train station so impossible to get lost.
Seems whenever there is a full day of activity we get a slow start. We also had to pack for air travel Our plane leaves at 9 PM so Dan wants to be there by 6 stating it is an international flight.
That timetable won’t work as out chocolate tour isn’t until 4:30. Unfortunately when I booked this chocolate tour I thought the location was about 15 minutes by tram from our hotel. That wasn’t the case. Turns out the factory where the tour takes place is a 20-25 minute train ride and the a 10 minute walk (uphill) which means loner than 10 minutes.
We got everything done. We had been on another chocolate tour so it was sort of a rehash I think the Lindt was done better but we did not do it justice and rushed through. We were able to make the 6:20 train got to the airport to walk forever, through TSA etc by 7:15. There was no passport control when we left Switzerland.
We were able to do the walking tour of old town Zurich which was great. It is an amazing city and the old town was unexpected
The flight to Stockholm was uneventful. We had the row to ourselves, there was no food and drink service but they gave us a bottle of water and you could buy something additional if you wanted. Landed on time at 1125 PM got bags but no passport control. We then were able to walk the miles to the hotel that was “in the airport”. Got to bed about 12:45. The sun was up and bright at 4:15am. A short night and I like train travel more than air. Took forever for my ears to clear.
