Norway in a Day

 When first booking tickets home we opted to spend a couple of days in Oslo. To get from Bergen to Oslo we decided to do the tour known as Norway in a Nutshell. This should be known as the forever train ride

Our day started at 6am when we met a porter service that will take our bags to our new hotel in Oslo. This is a win win for us as no need to find space and move the bags every time we change conveyances.  At 0830 we get on a train to go from Bergen to Voss at little over an hour.  Then we are on a bus for about 90 minutes.  The route is amazing rivers, waterfalls and some small homes.  Then a 2 hours ride in the fiord.  We traversed this on the ship but we were asleep so missed some of the great waterfalls. We arrive at the town of Flam at 2pm and our train leaves at 4:40.  The train runs north through the canyon and some of the most amazing waterfalls.  Of course we were on the wrong  side although I checked with several people and thought it was the correct side.  Dan was able to switch sides so I will rely on his photography skills. The scenery was amazing. The last leg was a 6 hour train ride to Oslo.  We got off the train at 11:50pm. We were able to catch a connecting train that brought us closer to the hotel we were staying in. And good news our bags were there and our room was ready. We have only 2 more days in Oslo and then home. It is really hard to believe.
